MR. BLAKE: I'm here today to talk about the state visit of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh next Tuesday. President Obama very much looks forward to welcoming the prime minister to the White House.

And let me just say, by way of opening remarks, that India is a rising global power. It will soon become the most populous country in the world. It has a trillion-dollar-plus economy. It's the world's largest democracy. And it's also a very powerful, multicultural and multiethnic example for the rest of the world and particularly for other emerging democracies. ...
